Mom in baby trading case back in Kentucky

Heather Kaminsky didn't say a word as she walked into the Laurel County Detention Center. Deputies escorted her inside late Thursday evening, after finding her in Florida.

They were searching for her for a week straight. The mother accused of selling her baby for a truck and some methamphetamine is back in Kentucky, now in jail.

"This is a major case. This is a very unusual case, it's a very serious case. We had cooperation through the Putnam County Sheriff's Department in Florida and the U.S. Marshal's service," says Laurel County Sheriff's Deputy Gilbert Acciardo.

A Laurel County Sheriff's deputy drove the 700 miles to Florida to pick up Heather Kaminsky. Deputies say she traded her four-day-old son for her friend's 1999 Dodge truck. Her friends Jaime and Jeremy Brown are charged with human trafficking.

"We're real glad to get her, and we're real glad to get her into the court system and proceed on prosecuting this," explains Deputy Acciardo.
