Top U.S. Commander on Capitol Hill

The top U.S. Commander in Afghanistan was on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

U.S. General John Allen told the House Armed Services Committee that despite recent setbacks, efforts to hand over security to the Afghans by December 2014 are on track.

General Allen's testimony comes as Sergeant Robert Bales, the suspect in the civilian shooting in Afghanistan, waits to be formally charged.

Bales is being held in an isolated cell at the Fort Leavenworth military prison in Kansas.
