Union College football players among those arrested at party

Police in Knox County busted a Halloween party this weekend in the Artemus Community.

Around 20 people were arrested at the party on alcohol intoxication charges.

Many of those arrested were underage, and six of them are football players at Union College.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office received a complaint about a party in the Artemus Community last Saturday night leading to arrests of several Union College football players.

"Supposedly under age drinking, a couple of subjects outside fighting. Upon arrival several subjects tried to flee the area," said Knox County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Hensley.

Police arrested around 20 people total at the party, and they say only five of them were 21.

"They were charged with unlawful transaction for a minor third degree which basically is supplying alcohol," said Hensley.

The rest were charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Six of them are football players at Union College who according to school officials will not be playing in this Saturday's game.

Union College released this statement in response to the arrests:

"It's an internal issue that is being dealt with according to our policies and procedures. From there, the legal system will take its course."

Police say around 25 people were at the party when they arrived, and more cars were trying to pull in, but turned around once they saw police.

Erica Sears, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Joshua Karr, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Ashley Rutledge, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Tyler Mehler, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Dinikko Waller, charged with alcohol intoxication, possession of alcohol by a minor, and fleeing of evading police, 2nd degree.

John Dustin Brown, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Jared Smith, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Jonathan Shipley, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Timothy Garland, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Jorden Keltner, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Brittney Reinagel, charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, 3rd degree.

William McGarvey, charged with alcohol intoxication and unlawful transaction with a minor, 3rd degree.

Mark Clontz, charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, 3rd degree.

Jerdeay Bailey, charged with unlawful transaction of a minor, 3rd degree.

Tyler Brown, charged with alcohol intoxication and unlawful transaction with a minor.

Cody Shepherd, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Joshua Winkle, charged with alcohol intoxication and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Traci Burns, charged with alcohol intoxication, possession of alcohol by a minor, and fleeing of evading police, 2nd degree.

Spencer Brashear, charged with alcohol intoxication, possession of alcohol by a minor, and fleeing of evading police, 2nd degree.
