PIKE Co., Ky. (WYMT) - As of right now more than 1,000 folks in Pike County are without power because of Tuesday night's storms.

Utility crews are busy restoring power throughout the county. American Electric Power representatives in Pikeville told us they hope to have 90% of power back on by midnight Thursday.

The pastor of Christian Life Fellowship said he had no choice but to cancel service on Wednesday night.

"It went off at about eight o'clock Tuesday night," said Pastor Terry Adkins. "I was down there about all day today doing work and it was hot in the church with no air conditioner."

Pastor Adkins said he too is hoping everyone gets their power working again soon.
