Utility company pulls plug on upgrading power plant

An electric utility company has pulled the plug on a bid to bring upgrades to an eastern Kentucky power plant.

Kentucky Power filed a motion to withdraw its plan for nearly one-billion-dollars in environmental upgrades at its Big Sandy Number Two plant near Louisa.

Kentucky Power says the company is re-evaluating its plan for the eight-hundred megawatt plant but will continue burning coal for now.
