PERRY Co., Ky. (WYMT) - Rafferty Peddler's Post in Perry County is a place for vendors to sell everything from clothing to toiletry items and food.

Vendors say they want answers after some money turned up missing.

Vendors say Austin Rafferty leases this building.

Monday morning he called the Perry County Sheriff's Department. They say $2,500, the cash register and cash box are missing.

Mike Mullins is one vendor and says there is more to the story.

"He surprises me standing inside the door telling me he ain't got no money to pay me. I said what do you mean you ain't got no money to pay me. He said we got robbed," said Mullins.

Many vendors say as soon as they heard about the situation they contacted Rafferty.

When Rafferty arrived Eversole and another deputy spoke with him and his girlfriend for about one hour.

Vendors were then let inside to pack up their trucks.

Rafferty declined an interview.

Eversole says they are investigating the situation.

The property owner says he is looking for another renter to take over for Rafferty.
