Corbin Police said it's a brazen crime! Now they need your help to find a woman who snatched credit and debit cards from teachers while they were at school.

Two teachers were targeted. The suspect walked in the school in the middle of the day on Friday, and she was not stopped.

School's out at Corbin Elementary on this Election Day.

"Very lucky or very smart in knowing how the building was laid out, bypassing security doors," said Darrell Tremaine, Assistant Superintendent of Corbin Independent Schools.

But school was in session on Friday.

"The suspect went down the hall through the hallway and gained access to the entire school," said Detective Bill Rose, of the Corbin Police Department.

The woman is shown in surveillance video briskly walking down the hall.

"She went straight to those rooms, walked right down the hallway. I'm confident she knew where she was going," said Rose.

The tricky thief hit up two empty classrooms, allegedly stealing credit and debit cards from teachers' purses.

"My gut feeling tells me she knew those two rooms were out on the playground," said Tremaine.

She then went on a shopping spree, stopping at a Walgreens on Highway 25W.

After trying to buy gift cards, the suspect was turned away because she didn't know the card's PIN number.

Next stop was a Wal-Mart on Highway 25E. Police said she racked up thousands of dollars in charges.

"She would dress like a school nurse, so she could go in and not be challenged at the school," said Rose.

School leaders believe the secretary looked away for a few seconds, and that's when the woman got in, through the office door.

"If you're manning that front desk, you can't turn your back for any length of time," said Tremaine.

A menace on a mission, only in the building for seven minutes.

Police tell us the suspect will face theft charges but also a burglary charge because she technically broke into the school.

Police are not sure whether she is from the area or not.
