An elderly man says he is thankful to be alive after two robbers ransacked his house early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 3 a.m. in the Mousie community of Knott County.
91-year-old Willie Patton was sleeping soundly in his home when he heard a knock at the door.
Patton thought it was his brother coming to check on him but when he opened the door, he was greeted by two men in black ski masks.
Patton says the robbers stole two bottles of prescription pills and cash from him.
The robbers took Patton's gun and pistol-whipped him on the forehead, leaving a wound that took four stitches to fix.
Patton is thankful to be alive but he says next time, the robbers won't be so lucky.
