MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - State Attorney General Darrell McGraw
is set to open a satellite office in the Eastern Panhandle.
McGraw and members of his Consumer Protection Division staff
will host a reception at its new Martinsburg office next Tuesday.
Deputy Attorney General Jill Miles says it's the first satellite
office for the Consumer Protection Division, which also has offices
in Charleston.
Miles says the office is an outgrowth of a recent settlement
between states and five mortgage lenders over foreclosure abuses.
West Virginia consumers will receive nearly $34 million from the
settlement and many of them are in the Eastern Panhandle.
Miles says the office is being funded for three years with the
hope that it can be made permanent.
