Water board members look for new management

The Salyersville Water Board is looking for new management for the water district.

The district has had significant financial problems in the past and earlier this year the city contracted UMG to help get it back on track.

Now their contract is up and the board accepted two bids for management.

The bids came from UMG and a local group, Maynard and Maynard Management.

“We want to study what's better for the water plant and especially what's better for the city of Salyersville, and the people of Salyersville and Magoffin County. That's our main concern,” Johnnie Lovely, Salyersville Water Works Chairman, said.

The board will have an open discussion to choose a bid next Monday.
