LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- Representatives from Appalachian Regional Health Care Were on hand at Greens Toyota in Lexington, gladly excepting a free SUV!
It's part of the Toyota 100 cars for good program, which identifies organizations in need. Folks can vote on social media sites like Facebook in order to help them win new cars.
The Highlander will be used by home healthcare nurses in West Liberty. It'll make a big difference there after ARH leaders say the tornado in March destroyed 13 cars in their fleet.
"Our nurses never quit working," explained Rhonda Dixon of ARH. "They drove their own cars until we could get some replacements from surrounding counties. It's so exciting to have this and be able to see patients in bad weather."
The Girl Scouts of Wilderness Road also won big; they are driving off a Toyota Tundra. The truck will help them with their camp activities.
