Frank and Minnie Lynn Sower live together in Frankfort at the Ashwood Place, a senior living center.
The couple looks over old photographs and reflects on what life was like when they were both in their 20s. Frank served in the United States Navy and Minnie Lynn can still remember how the two of them met.
"Yeah, we met on the river, weren't we? Our friend had a boat, he came and picked us up together to take a ride. I think that is all right," says Minnie Lynn.
Little did the two of them know that the boat ride in the Kentucky river would take them to where they are today.
Frank and Minnie Lynn are both 101 years old. They are also approaching a milestone anniversary this year.
When Minnie Lynn is asked how long it feels like they have been married, she responds,"I don't know...forever."
The Sower's will be married 75 years in August.
Minnie Lynn jokes around saying that her relationship with Frank, was "all right" and "she decided to stay."
Frank explains that he knows exactly why Minnie Lynn stuck around,"I'm a really nice man."
Minnie Lynn says that they always celebrate Valentine's and admits she still has expectations of her sweetheart, "Sure, I have to have candy and flowers."
Frank and Minnie Lynn's son, John Sower says that his parents are among the most loyal people he has ever met.
