Whitley County Schools employee accused of threatening coach

A Whitley County Schools employee faces charges of disorderly conduct and menacing after allegedly threatening a coach.

Tammy Walker was taken into custody Monday.

The arrest warrant states that she grabbed Assistant Coach Josh Bowman's shoulder and started yelling curse words at him while at a Whitley County High School baseball game.

The warrant goes on to say that Walker had to be escorted off the field by the umpire.

She bonded out of jail Monday. Both charges are misdemeanors.

Bowman said he could not comment on the situation at this time. Walker referred all comment to her attorney.

An internal investigation is underway by the school system.

Walker is not a teacher. She resigned from her duties as Youth Fitness Coordinator after the incident, but she is still employed by the school system in another role.
