WYMT Severe Weather Alert

We're tracking the possibility of more storms rolling through today, with some of them being strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a slight risk for severe weather through this evening. The main threats at this point look to be wind and hail. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as needed.

Whitley County man dies in accidental shooting

Police in Whitley County are investigating after they find a man dead from an apparent accidental shooting.

Officers responded to a home on Highway 26 following a report of a body being found inside.

When they got to the scene, they found 87 year old Harold Pennington dead from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

They say it looks like he was cleaning the gun when it went off.

Foul play is not suspected.
