The top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats have arrived in Atlanta for the NCAA Tournament's South Regional, and many Big Blue fans will soon join them.
Cats fans will go just about anywhere to see their team around town.
"Today we brought a fifth grade class to tour UK. We're actually from Henderson, Kentucky," explained fifth-grade teacher Jill Conrad, who stayed in Lexington long after her class field trip ended.
"We were driving around and we just happened to see this nice big blue bus and knew that Wildcat Lodge was over here so we kinda put it together, we knew the boys were going to Atlanta."
She and fellow teachers wanted to wish players luck as they headed to Atlanta.
"Those boys are one in a million. Absolutely awesome," Conrad gushed.
If you're driving to Atlanta the highest gas prices you'll find are right here in Lexington. The average $3.89 a gallon is keeping some fans from even making the trip.
"$3.89 something like that for unleaded. It hurts to drive," said UK student Travis Gowins, "with the money I spent on spring break I don't know if I have the funds because the gas prices get down there. I have to find a car load if I want to go."
The Cats will face Indiana in the Sweet Sixteen. They play at 9:45 p.m. on Friday.
