Williams ad points to job losses in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Republican gubernatorial candidate David
Williams has started airing a TV commercial that says Kentucky has
lost jobs during Gov. Steve Beshear's term in office.
The 30-second ad that debuted Tuesday says Kentucky has lost
nearly 100,000 jobs during the Democratic governor's tenure.
The commercial also shows pictures of President Barack Obama in
an attempt to tie Beshear to the Democratic president, who has
never been popular in Kentucky.
Williams says in the commercial that he would stand up to Obama
and says Kentucky is hurting and can do better.
The ad is Williams' second of the general election campaign.
Williams' campaign says the ad is running in markets across
Kentucky.
Kentucky had a 9.5 percent unemployment rate in July, which was
higher than the U.S. rate of 9.1 percent.
