LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Significant winds are expected in Kentucky on Tuesday ahead of a strong cold front.

The National Weather Service advises caution to drivers traveling east to west, especially in high-profile vehicles. There's also the possibility of damage to small trees and limbs.

The wind advisory is in effect through 3 p.m. EDT for westernmost Kentucky and through 8 p.m. for central and eastern Kentucky. The weather service says people can expect widespread wind speeds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 mph.

We're looking at the potential for severe weather this afternoon and into the evening hours. The Storm Prediction Center has us under the slight risk for severe storms today. The moderate risk is not far away.

Isolated tornadoes are possible, especially along the Interstate 75 corridor, so it's something to watch out for.
