Two weeks ago, several EMS workers lost their jobs when the Wolfe County ambulance service went out of business.

This caused officials to declare a "state of emergency" in the county.

But not everyone is happy about it.

The EMS workers who lost their jobs say they should be the ones employed instead of outside workers.

County officials say they understand why the former employees are upset, but the county had no other choice.

The president of Trans-Star Ambulance Services says he eventually plans to hire back all of the former Wolfe County EMS employees.
