LAVALETTE, W. Va. (WYMT/WSAZ) - A mother is facing charges after her child was injured in a crash in Wayne County, West Virginia.
It happened just before three Wednesday afternoon on Route 152 in the Lavalette area.
The driver of a Ford F-150 says he was rear-ended by a Chevy S10 and crashed into a utility pole.
Deputies say the woman who caused the wreck, Sandra Thompson, was driving on a suspended license and had no insurance.
They also tell us her five year old son had no booster seat and was not buckled in.
We are told it happened in an area with increasing traffic.
Coupled with after school traffic from nearby Lavalette Elementary and the evening rush hour, neighbors say these crashes are becoming more common.
The two children did not have to be taken to the hospital.
