Lexington, Ky. (WKYT) - Melissa Hall, a Lexington woman is taking her mission to Facebook. She has set up a Facebook Page, Called, Blanket Drive for NYC.

Hall hopes to fill a U-Haul truck with supplies tomorrow.

After seeing the devastation on TV in New York City after Sandy and now a nor'easter, Hall felt compelled to help out. She started collecting blankets and other supplies from friends and family.

But, knowing how great the need is for those without power, she's hoping that others will join in.

She's going to drive the materials to New York and may even spend a few hours volunteering.

"I think it's going into great hands. I'm working with a New York City rescue mission. They're going to be able to give it to the people, some that are most in need, low income homeless people, just to people who have been affected and even with the weather, just in great ways," says Hall.

Hall is asking for those who are interested in helping out to visit her Facebook Page and she will make plans to pick up your donations.

Hall plans to leave Lexington to New York City by 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.

In addition to blankets, she is collecting men's clothing and toiletry items.
