Woman killed in Wayne County, WV crash

WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WYMT/WSAZ) - A woman is dead after crashing into a stream Friday afternoon.

Troopers with the Wayne Detachment say Marife Travis, 32, of Lavalette, was driving east on Beach Fork Road in Wayne County when she slid on black ice and lost control of her car.

Travis' car went off the roadway and into a stream.

Troopers say the location and high water hindered rescue efforts.

Neither drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
