Woman testifies against husband in alleged meat cleaver attack

WHITLEY COUNTY (WKYT) - A Whitley County woman took the stand Wednesday against her husband, the man accused of trying to kill her with a meat cleaver.

The Whitley County Sheriff says James Privett stabbed his wife Erica Privett in the face with a meat cleaver back in February of 2012, at a home off Highway 1804. Family members say her skull was broken in at least seven places after the attack.

Witnesses called to the stand talked about the pair's tumultuous relationship and their frequent fights.

Privett is charged with attempted murder.
