Woman drowns in a pond on her property

A woman is dead after investigators say she drowned in a pond on her own property in Whitley County.

It happened Sunday afternoon on Egnar Hollow Road in Rockholds.

Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell says it appears 63-year-old Wanda Sue Lambtin left her home, fell into the pond, and got stuck.

Her son found her dead about 30 minutes later.

She was pronounced dead by Chief Deputy Coroner Jerry Croley, and her body was recovered by Woodbine Fire Rescue.

Officials do not suspect foul play.
