Woman files lawsuit

A Fayette County woman says jail employees in Clay County strip searched her without justification and made racial slurs.

A federal lawsuit filed Monday alleges Jennifer C. Philpot was subjected to rectal and vaginal cavity searches even though there was no cause to suspect she was hiding contraband.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports the lawsuit names Jailer Kenny Price and the two guards, who are not named, former judge executive Carl Sizemore, six current or former magistrates, a former police chief, and two officers as the defendants.

She is seeking an unspecified amount of money.
