A Laurel County woman was knocked out as a thief invaded her home.
44-year-old Donna Sizemore says she woke up early this morning after hearing a loud noise at her door.
Police are still looking for a suspect in the home invasion, and the victim says she is now scared to be home alone.
"Money, X Box, my medications," said Donna Sizemore, whose home was broken into.
That is what was taken from 44-year-old Donna Sizemore of Keavy, and she is now left with a black eye.
"When I heard the door kick in and that's when I come up off the couch. And I got plastered as soon as I hit the floor basically. I didn't have a chance to defend myself at all. It just all happened so fast," said Sizemore.
Jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt, a mask, and a white man's hands are all Sizemore says she remembers seeing.
"I was knocked out, so they robbed me while I was knocked out. And when I come back to, they were gone of course," said Sizemore.
Sizemore says she has been sleeping on her couch with her husband and two sons being out of town and has not had an issue being home alone until Friday morning.
Because of both the timing and what was stolen, police and Sizemore's family say they are suspicious about what happened.
"It seems as if somebody knew she would be there by herself and knew right where to come to to get what they wanted," said Lt. Rodney Van Zant, who is with the Laurel County Sheriff's Department.
A valuable lesson has come out of this for Sizemore, and she says her story should be an example for women everywhere.
"Lock your doors, lock them good, and lock your windows," said Sizemore.
Sizemore says she cannot walk with ease just yet knowing her perpetrator is still out there.
Donna Sizemore is back home and well.
