Work is underway to restore historical statue

Work is underway to restore the Doughboy Statue that West Liberty lost in the March tornado outbreak.

The Herald-Leader reports that two artists are working on it in Rowan County.

The Doughboy, one of 140 around the country, arrived in West Liberty in 1927.

It's to honor American soldiers who fought in World War I.

Morgan County's Judge-Executive says the county will display the Doughboy inside the new courthouse.
