The families of miners killed in the Upper Big Branch mine explosion have settled a wrongful death lawsuit against the mine's owners.
A lawyer for the estates of the 29 victims says the final deals were cut after a marathon mediation session.
The attorney says Alpha also settled suits with at least seven other miners injured in the blast.
The terms of the settlement have not been announced and alpha natural resources would not confirm or comment on the settlements.
