Young girl severely injured in dog attack

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - An investigation is underway following a dog attack in Pike County.

The Appalachian News Express reports the attack happened Saturday at Shelby Dry Fork.

Police say a young girl was severely injured and officers are considering a charge of harboring a vicious animal.

A family member of the victim, identified as 10 year old Victoria May, told the paper the girl could lose sight in one of her eyes due to her injuries.
