UPDATE: One dead in Sunday morning ATV crash

Updated: 08/04/2014 - Brandon "Doodle" Powers, 26, was riding as a passenger on the driver's lap. Johnson County Sheriff Dwayne Price said the driver of the ATV lost control and hit a ditch. Powers was thrown from the ATV and died at the scene.

Benefit held for 3-year-old girl suffering from chronic seizures

Updated: 08/03/2014 - Folks gathered in Harlan Saturday afternoon for a benefit event called "A Miracle for Michaela." There was dinner, special guests and raffles, courtesy of donations from the community. Organizers say the goal is to raise enough money to help the family of a girl suffering from chronic seizures to purchase a handicap-accessible van.
