Mountain medical workers discuss procedures for Ebola patients

Updated: 10/09/2014 - The first person recently diagnosed with Ebola in America died Wednesday morning. Thomas Eric Duncan was in a Dallas hospital since late last month. Federal officials say they will now start checking passengers from West Africa for fever in major cities. But what about procedures here in eastern Kentucky? Rural hospitals are starting to prepare in case someone comes in with signs of Ebola. We talked to local health officials about the protocols in place should a potentially infected patient walk through the front door.
