It could be a case of love gone wrong! A triple shooting in the Flat Lick community of Knox County Monday night leaves one woman dead, and sends two other people to the hospital.
Family members who got to the scene right after the shooting said they are having a hard time dealing with what they saw.
"We got there, and he took care of his brother. And I stepped in to see what was going on, blood was everywhere," said Maggie Mills.
Mills is the sister-in-law of 68 year-old Gillis Smith.
Smith was shot Monday night at his home along with his alleged girlfriend, 56 year-old Alice Taylor.
"She was begging me to help her, but I couldn't move her," said Mills.
Taylor's sister, 46 year-old Christine Engle was shot to death.
Police are not saying who did the shooting, but they will say that alcohol played a role.
"We're conducting interviews with neighbors and witnesses," said Shane Jacobs, with Kentucky State Police.
"We would really like to know what happened, the truth of what happened, of who shot who and what they did," said Mills.
Family members said they are concerned by what could come from all of this, since now they are left with more questions than answers.
"We don't know if any of us are safe or not, and that's the truth," said Mills.
Alice Taylor and Gillis Smith were flown to UT Medical Center in Knoxville for their injuries. We're told they both underwent surgery.
State Police are waiting on lab results to figure out who in the home fired the shots and if charges will be filed.
