State parks offer Thanksgiving buffet

Lots of people decided they did not want to cook the Thanksgiving meal, so they let someone else do it for them.

Managers at Pine Mountain State Park in Bell County said they served a record number of people Thursday - more than 500!

State parks across the Commonwealth were open for the holiday - featuring a Thanksgiving buffet. Some of those taking a seat at that table drove a ways to get there.

"We have several people from the Lake Cumberland area, around Knoxville, Tennessee, so just around the surrounding areas," said Carolyn Partin, with Pine Mountain State Park.

Park officials had a long waiting list for tables inside the dining room during the lunch hour.
