They're calling it "Stand In the Gap!" A weekend march will bring together religious groups from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Organizers believe faith is the only way to rid the Tri-State of drug and alcohol abuse.

"It's non-denominational, no particular church - groups of people just started getting together praying," said Edwin Robertson.

Edwin Robertson is part of the Stand In the Gap committee. Their event is planned for Sunday afternoon.

"We're from these three counties. What a great opportunity we have to march into the Cumberland Gap and take a stand," said Robertson, "We're coming to ask God to lead us, however he chooses to do so."

At 2 o'clock, marchers will leave from the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate and walk to the Cumberland Gap.

There they will be met by folks from Kentucky and Virginia.

Walking is not the only way to get there, more than twenty buses will be taking people to the rally.

A worship and prayer service will take place in the middle of town. Folks will be wearing shirts so they will not be hard to spot.

"Highlighter yellow - you won't miss it. I'm sure. It's a safety issue too being closer to the road," said Linda Lankford.

Robertson said if you plan on attending do not bring your car to the Cumberland Gap.

More than 5,000 people are expected at the rally - a large crowd, to fight a large problem.

"A move by the body of Christ - to do something about the drug abuse that has ravaged not only the Tri-State but the nation," said Robertson.

It's a crisis many believe can only go away with help from above.

The original plan called for a march through the Cumberland Gap Tunnel.

We're told the Kentucky Department of Highways was willing to allow that, but the Tennessee Department of Transportation decided against it.

Claiborne County, Tennessee schools are donating their buses for the afternoon to help carry people to the rally.
