FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Former Gov. Ernie Fletcher is scheduled to speak at a Republican dinner in Cynthiana on Saturday.
Fletcher, a physician and former congressman, has been rather low-profile since he left office in late 2007 after being beaten at the polls by current Gov. Steve Beshear, a Democrat.
When he was elected in 2003, Fletcher became Kentucky's first Republican governor in more than 30 years.
The $25-a-plate dinner is a fundraiser for the Harrison County Republican Party.
