In the wake of the National Security Agency collecting phone records and monitoring internet use, Senator Rand Paul has introduced new legislation.
The Herald Leader states the legislation, which was introduced on Friday, would require a warrant before any government agency could search the phone records of Americans. Paul says the bill is intended to stop the NSA from spying on U.S. citizens.
The paper reports ... Paul called the secret program to collect phone records of Verizon customers quote "an astounding assault on the constitution."
