Stivers makes appearance on KET's "Kentucky Tonight"

Two lawmakers from Eastern Kentucky answered questions on KET's "Kentucky Tonight" program.

Senate President Robert Stivers from Manchester and Senator Johnny Ray Turner from Prestonsburg appeared on the program to talk about this year’s general assembly.

This session was Stivers first as senate president.

Many of the bills passed in the final hours.

Host Bill Goodman asked Stivers if he thought people had begun to doubt his leadership.

“I think going into the session, being the new kid on the block, they wondered how much we would accomplish, if we could accomplish anything. I heard many of the reporters and pundits come up to me and say we just don't think a lot will happen this session,” Senate President Robert Stivers said.

Both Stivers and Turner said overall they were pleased with how the session turned out.
