Posted: 04/25/2014 - Junior ace Logan Sawyer (Knoxville, Tenn.) spun a masterful complete-game gem, and the third-seeded Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters tacked on four runs in the eighth inning to careen to a 7-2 victory over the fourth-seeded Newberry Wolves in the opening round of the 2014 Food Lion SAC Baseball Championship on Thursday at McNair Field in Forest City, North Carolina. The Railsplitters (27-15-1) advance to the winner's bracket, where second-seeded Wingate awaits. Lincoln Memorial and Wingate are set to clash at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

No. 9 Kentucky ends home schedule with No. 8 Tennessee

Posted: 04/24/2014 - Looking to end its home schedule on a high note, the No. 9 University of Kentucky softball team will play host to No. 8 Tennessee this weekend for a three-game series at John Cropp Stadium that begins with a 6 p.m. ET first pitch on Friday. Kentucky and Tennessee will meet at 5 p.m. on Saturday in game two of the series, before a 2 p.m. series finale on Sunday.

Finishing ahead of the runner-up Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders by 29 strokes, the Patriot Ladies claimed their third straight MSC title, further proving exactly why they are considered national champion competitors. Earning the conference's automatic bid into next month's NAIA National Championships in Lincoln, Nebraska, the No. 3 ranked Patriots won their 5th tournament of the spring season.

Patriot golf finishes runner-up at MSC Championships

Posted: 04/24/2014 - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Men’s Golf team had a tough week during Mid-South Conference (MSC) competition, finishing second overall at the MSC Championships in Bardstown, KY. The No. 17 ranked Patriots shot an overall team score of 899 over three days of play, 19 shots back of the MSC Champion Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College who shot an 880 on the tournament.
