After knocking out Louisville Central running back Anthony Wales on his second carry of the day, the #1 Belfry Pirates were able to capitalize.
After Central scored the first 9 points of the game, Belfry scored on a 74 yard pass from Tyler Williams to Howie Dotson to pull within 2 points, 9-7.
That would be the score at the half until Belfry once again got on the board after a 9 play 54 yard drive capped off by a four yard TD run by Josh Dixon to make it 14-9 in the third quarter.
Central would respond in the fourth quarter when Tajh Milliken completed a 34 yard TD pass to Cornelius Bolden in the back corner of the end zone with 2:01 remaining in the game.
Central would then pick off Williams, but 25 seconds later, the Pirates would respond with a blocked punt with 1:34 left in the fourth quarter.
With one final chance to take the lead, Williams would be sacked on 4th and 20 as Central wins their fourth state title in five years.
Tyler Williams was 2 of 5 for 91 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception for Belfry. On the ground, Trey Willis led the way with 69 yards on 15 carries. Howie Dotson had 1 reception for 74 yards and a TD.
