Former M.C. Napier standout basketball player Kristie Combs visited Hazard High School Monday for the Second Annual Kristie Combs Hall of Fame Basketball Camp.
The camp is held for boys and girls from grades kindergarten through 8th grade. Combs says she views the camp as not only a way to teach kids the fundamentals of the game, but also as a way to give back to the community.
"We've been doing this basketball camp probably on and off for about 10 years now. Always out in the community, I have kids and parents that will find me ask if there's any way that I can do some basketball skills or help their kids with fundamentals." say Combs. "
We just decided to have these camps and we have a pretty good turnout. I'm always willing to try to help the community out...I'm a big supporter of all the area, all the area schools here and just involve all the kids here from kindergarten all the way up to eighth, ninth grade...the kids we have here every summer.
