#4 Bobcats to present good test for #6 Briar Jumpers

SOMERSET Ky. (WYMT) - During the preseason, Somerset head coach Robbie Lucas said his #6 Briar Jumpers have arguably one of the tougher schedules in all of Kentucky.

Last week, the Jumpers knocked off then #5 Hazard 17-9. This week, they welcome in another top five team in #4 Breathitt County. Playing such a tough schedule is a good thing according to Lucas, and Breathitt will provide a good measuring stick for his team.

"We're challenged each and every week, and that's a good thing. It may not equate to wins and losses on the side that you would want them on", said Lucas.

"Last year, I think we went into this game right where we are right now at 3-0, and we proceeded to lose our next three games. It turned out well for us. When we got into district, we were able to win the district, made it all the way to regional championship and state semis again. I'll take a loss during the regular season. I don't like them. I'm not happy with them. We certainly don't want it, but I'm not adverse to playing a very good team that will kind of tell you where you are as a measuring stick and Breathitt is a very good measuring stick for us."
