College Basketball: Tourney Snubs

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Syracuse figured 22 victories and a winning conference record would earn it an NCAA tournament bid. But the Orange will not be in the 65-team N-C-A-A field this year despite its 22-and-10 record that includes a late-season road win against Georgetown.

Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim (BAY'-hym) says he's "very disappointed" but says it doesn't do any good to get angry.

There were 104 teams with at least 20 victories this season.

Among other surprises were the exclusion of Kansas State, Air Force, West Virginia, Washington and Drexel.

Stanford and Arkansas were among the surprises in the N-C-A-A field.
