PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The rebuilding process is a long, drawn out thing, but for Pikeville College Baseball Coach Robert Taylor, it is one he looks at with excitement.

Taylor, a Pikeville College Hall-of-Famer who was a three-time all-conference pick, is looking for young men who want to come to the school and be a part of getting the program on the right track. He found another local who shares his excitement.

Colton Bentley of Shelby Valley High School recently signed a scholarship agreement to play for the Bears. Bentley had 29 hits for the Wildcats in 15 games, and 11 of them went for extra bases. He had 10 doubles, a home run and struck out only four times as a senior.

“We’re very pleased to be able to find young men like Colton who are willing to come to Pikeville College and help us put this program where it belongs,” Taylor said. “We’re thankful to have scholarship opportunities for local talent and we’re excited about adding him to our family on The Hill.

Bentley averaged nearly an RBI each game, driving in 13 this season while stealing 19 bases for the Wildcats.
