The University of the Cumberlands (UC) softball team once again has been hot on the recruiting trail this offseason. Talent throughout the area is always looked for and the Patriots have locked in some great local talent for the 2011 season in signing Bobbi Richelle Johnson.
Johnson is a graduate of Harlan County High School and is the daughter of Bobby and Shannon Johnson.
When asked about signing with the Patriots, Johnson said, “I am looking forward to playing with the ladies of UC. I know college softball is going to be a step up from high school ball and I am willing to give it all I have.”
Head Patriot Softball Coach Angie Dean commented, “I have watched Richelle play ball for at least three years now and I am very pleased to finally get to sign her. She’s a sure handed third baseman that has a great presence on the field.”
