The quarterfinals were a lot easier for Pikeville than the first round was. The Panthers steamrolled Greenup County for a 10-0 win in 6 innings.

Pikeville jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 1 thanks to a bases clearing double by Scott McDonald. The score would stay the same until the 4th when Stephen Layne came up with a big 2 out, 2 RBI single to make it 5-0.

That's much more than the Panthers pitching staff would need. Jacob Hamilton and Dustin Boyd combined for a 6 inning shutout. Hamilton went 5 2/3 innings, striking out 5 and giving up only 4 hits to get the win.

Gavin Miller was 4-4 in the game with 3 runs. Patrick Keene was 3-3 with 2 runs. 5 different Panthers came up with RBI hits in the win.

Pikeville now faces the winner of the West Jessamine/Butler game on Friday at 6 PM at Applebee's Park in Lexington.
