Woodson Erases Demons Against Brohm, Louisville

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The last time Andre Woodson came close to beating Louisville, the ball - and Kentucky's upset hopes - slipped through his fingers on the 2 yard-line.

On Saturday night, Woodson delivered, with a 57-yard game-winning touchdown pass with 28 seconds left and a 40-43 victory.

With the win, the Wildcats halted a four-game losing streak against their intrastate rivals.

Woodson's says the team is starting to get respect.

The victory marked the first victory for Woodson as an amateur against Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm, a nemesis dating back to high school.

Woodson went another game without throwing an interception, extending his streak of passes without one to 257. That broke the Southeastern Conference record set by Georgia's David Greene in 2004 and is 14 short of Trent Dilfer's N-C-A-A mark.

Louisville came into the game ranked Number Nine in the country - the Wildcats' first conquest over a top-ten team since they got Penn State in 1977. Yesterday UK was ranked Number 21 in the country, while Louisville dropped to Number 18.
