LONDON, Ky (WYMT) - The first round of the American Junior Golf Association PNC Bank Junior Championship presented by London and Laurel County at Crooked Creek is in the books, and the leader, Tanner Owens from North Carolina, is four under.

The AJGA Tournament attracts junior golfers from all over the country and even the world.

Joseph Cansler from North Carolina says the tour pulls in the young golfers because of the high level of competition.

"I like the AJGA because it is the best junior tour in the world. They have the best competition and you get to be able to come and see how good you really are against the worlds best. I played in an AJGA tour in Kentucky earlier and just liked the climate and the way the courses are around here. I like golf because it's always challenging you can go out and you can shoot your best score and there's always room for improvement. You can always take one more putt off your round, it's just a lot of fun," said Cansler.
