PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville men’s soccer team was picked to finish 10th in the 2013 Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, released by league officials on Wednesday.
Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.
The Bears finished 0-14 last season, but lost six of the matchups by two goals or less.
Nine-time national champion Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is the preseason favorite, collecting 81 points with nine of the 10 available first-place votes.
Behind the Blue Raiders is Rio Grande (Ohio) in second with 73 points and a first-place nod, while Campbellsville (Ky.) is third on the list with 60 points.
UPIKE opens the 2013 campaign on the road, facing Grace College (Ind.) at 5 p.m. ET on Aug. 17 in Winona Lake, Ind. The first home game at the Bob Amos Soccer Complex is at 5 p.m. ET on Sept. 16 against Bluefield (Va.).
