Bears sign transfer from Olivet Nazarene

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville women’s basketball team has signed a transfer who played in the national tournament last March.

Natalie Tunnell, a 5-7 guard from Oklahoma City, has signed to play with the Bears. Tunnell averaged 2.4 points a game last season for Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.

The Tigers finished 27-5 and lost to Shorter, Ga., 84-83 in the opening round of the 32nd Annual Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship in Frankfort last March.

Tunnell was a three-time home-school All-American who scored more than 1,300 points in high school.
