MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Aary Bibens, a 6-foot-4 guard from Mount Anthony Union High School (Vt.), will join the Morehead State men's basketball program for the 2013-14 season. As a true freshman, he has four years of college eligibility.
"Our staff is really looking forward to working with Aary," Head Coach Sean Woods said. "I'm excited about our backcourt moving forward, and Aary factors into that equation. He can play either guard position and will give us good depth."
Bibens, a native of Bennington, Vt., earned First-Team All-Marble Valley League accolades his final two prep seasons. He averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds as a senior in 2012-13 after posting 19 points and 10 boards per contest as a junior in 2011-12.
Bibens ranks third in Mount Anthony Union history with 751 career rebounds and sixth with 951 career points. As a senior, he was a First-Team All-State selection by the Burlington Free Press and Player of the Year choice by the Bennington Banner.
"We're glad Aary has decided to join us at Morehead State," Woods said. "Aary is a big-time athlete, with lots of intangibles that will help us. He can score, rebound, pass and defend -- all qualities that we look for in the recruiting process."
