BETSY LAYNE, Ky. (WYMT) - Betsy Layne will be making its fifth appearance in the WYMT Whayne Supply Mountain Basketball Classic this season.
The No. 9 Bobcats will be looking for their first win ever in the Classic, as they currently stand at 0-7 all-time, and with their opening game being against the defending champion Knott Central Patriots, they know getting their first win will be extremely tough.
"As for the first win, it seems like we draw the toughest team in it every year, and no exception this year with Knott County Central being rated No. 1," says Bobcat head coach Junior Newsome. "That's why we get in these tournaments. That's why we play these games, to get better. You know, we've got a young team and we seem to be getting a little better with each game now, and hopefully this year we can get that first win over there, and certainly that would mean a lot to the kids."
