KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Union College men's basketball team remains ranked in the latest NAIA Division II Coaches' Poll, as the Bulldogs are 24th in this week's ranking, which was announced by the National Office on Tuesday. This marks the fifth consecutive week that Union is ranked in the poll.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the NAIA Division II conferences and independents.
In their lone game last week, the Bulldogs (23-4 overall and 14-2 in the AAC) dropped a tough 61-60 decision on the road to St. Andrews (N.C.) in overtime.
But, despite the loss, Union still controls its own destiny in the race for the AAC Regular Season Championship, as the team can clinch its first outright regular season conference championship of any kind since 1971-72 with one more victory. The Bulldogs can also clinch the title and an automatic bid to the 2014 NAIA Division II Championships if second place Reinhardt (Ga.) drops a conference game, as well.

The Bulldogs will next play on Wednesday, hosting AAC-rival Bryan (Tenn.) in the team’s 2013-14 home finale. Two Union seniors - Tarik Smith (Tempe, Ariz.) and Archie Adams (Aiken, S.C.) - will also be honored before tip-off, which is slated for 7:30 p.m.
